Happiness is: Victorian Tendencies

1.11.2013

Has it been awhile since I last posted one of these? I feel like it has been. My photo taking days seem to have dwindled down to nothing, for no particular reason at all. I just got busy and forgot I suppose. But, New Years is for fresh starts, and I will once again brandish my camera, and snap away at life.
I feel as if my low light photography, and pictures in general, have taken on a Victorian flair. Brooding, dark, and singular. That's what you think of when you hear the word Victorian, no? Ryan would tell you I've been watching to many British TV shows and movies, and he's absolutely right. I love getting in lost in another time and place, it's soothing for me. In the Summer I rarely have time to just veg, but in the winter I really enjoy it. Hibernation is our friend.
To combat this hibernation I'm trying once again to up the ante on taking Nellie out for walks. I read an article recently about how to keep pets in small spaces happy, even without a yard, and learned a lot. Walks are really important to dogs, and socialization too! I want Nellie to have a very long, happy life, so if that's what it takes then I'm all in. "Walks at twilight." Sounds like a Victorian novel to me. big kiss, bekuh

  2. These images are beautiful! What camera do you use? Do you use photoshop? Sorry to be so noisy but I am trying to learn how to edit my images better.
I tried to take my dog for walks but he's paws are so soft it isn't good for him.

  5. I like that style of photography! Wonderful way to describe it. I used to take so many more photos too, and I feel like as I age I don't use it as much. Sad!

  6. Love the old timeliness of your photos. I don't think there is such a thing as watching too many British shows and movies, is there?! But you're right, both humans and dogs need a break with a walk and fresh air.
