Our home is a hot house of florals right now. Every room is bursting with blooms, and the happy little buds make me feel more alive despite the cold. They're calling for snow today, the first snow of the year for SW Virginia, and I'm crossing my fingers it actually sticks. I love the idea of looking outward and seeing a blanket of white, and inward at my own personal paradise. Today, I want to share the beauty in my home with you in yours.

I'd be lying if I said that I bought these flowers unprovoked, they were actually an assignment I was reluctant to complete. As part of the January Cure, we are told each week to buy our home some flowers. I used to think buying flowers without reason was wasteful, and a silly expense, but now I'm starting to see them a little differently. These flowers are a symbol of fresh ideas, happiness, and life. I quite like them. I hope you have the most beautiful day, mine is starting off wonderfully. big kiss, bekuh

Billy balls! Those little yellow guys are my fave. I'm not a big flower person mostly because I have whatever the polar opposite of a green thumb is.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I also want to get flowers more often. Can't this week cause I'm off to Ireland, but when I come back yes for sure!

flowers are gorgeous in the house, but i mostly don't buy them because i hate, hate throwing them out when they die. it's like throwing out all the goodness and hope they brought to the house. so we have a couple potted plants instead.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I like to splurge on some real flowers once in awhile.
ReplyDeleteI signed up for the January Cure, but I haven't even read all the emails. I think I might do my own February Cure instead :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful!! I love the idea of fresh flowers during the cold winter months!!
ReplyDeletelovely photos, hope you get the snow you are hoping for!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely! I love how flowers can change a room. :)
ReplyDeleteI would freaking die if the snow actually stuck here. It's not looking likely in GA though. I hope your town turns into a swirling winter wonderland. I'm sure Nellie would love it.
ReplyDeleteFlowers are pretty magical and lift anyone's mood! This reminds me of working on a flower farm in VA this past summer. If you get a chance you should visit Wollam Gardens! They have beautiful flowers :)
ReplyDeleteI am doing the January Cure too! I've got some magenta ones going on right now. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the white, red, and mustard combo.

I don't buy flowers often enough, but I am always happy when I do!
ReplyDeleteI love flowers too but it's no fun for me to see them dying after a few days :S I prefer to grow plants which can live longer. Plus the weather in here is just too tough for any greenkind to be able to live :S
ReplyDeleteI didn't used to think so, but flowers absolutely brighten a day, especially a day like today when it's 32 degrees outside!
ReplyDeleteFresh flowers are such a treat - I used to feel guilty too about buying live bouquets - but they really do lighten a place up!
