Ryan planned, and schemed, a surprise destination for our Anniversary meal, and didn't reveal anything to me until we walked off the Metro near the restaurant. We ate at Ripple, a small plates restaurant, and it ended up being one of the best meals of our lives. Each dish was an explosion of flavor, and our waiter was excellent at offering recommendations, and guidance when we needed it. Their menu is all locally sourced and I gotta say the DC livestock make some amazing cheese. We ate until we could hardly move and waddled back to the hotel for drinks and discussion. Sadly the photos of this amazing event did not turn out as well as I'd hope. But, trust me when I say we'll never forget this amazing meal together.
This was a beyond perfect way to spend our first anniversary and I'm so thankful for the special time spent with just us two. What are some special anniversary memories that you have (married or dating)? big kiss, bekuh

So sweet :) That place sounds amazing! I think you got some good pictures. My husband + I never really celebrated anniversaries before we got married but this May we celebrated our first too. I forgot my phone + camera so I don't have any pics of our dinner, haha. I blogged about our day here though: http://dailydoily.typepad.com/peaceloveandcupcakes/2012/05/our-first-anniversary.html ♥Lindsay
ReplyDeletesounds seriously fantastic, really. my husband served a mission for 2 years and we always dream of going back. our 1 year of marriage comes up in december, but sadly i dont think we will be able to do anything special. its so hard being around the holidays, but i look forward to one day just having a getaway with us 2. special time like that is a dream come true and so glad you finally got to!

I'm so jealous of your adventures! Looks like your having so much fun!
ReplyDelete1. i love these photos, bekuh. i think they're perfect. i think these black & white, richly grainy photos are SO much better than crisp, super-vivid ones for occasions like this. and i adore your dress. and you look so beautiful.
ReplyDelete2. r's beard looks so good these days i can't even believe it's real.
3. my favorite moment from our first anniversary was when robbie & i went biking and he purposefully led me to a flower shop where he planned on picking up flowers for me as a surprise. it was so sweet, and more fun then waking up to flowers.
than* waking up to flowers. i am mortified that i did that.
