My First Renegade Craft Fair

Let me start by saying that I'm a total blogger failure and did not take 3 bazillion pictures in Chicago, I actually ended up taking about 50. Now that that is off my chest I can share the goings on without the secret guilt of my bad behavior. Katie and I woke up extra early on Friday and drove the 12+ hours to Chicago to stay with Katie's sweet friend Becca. I know, I know two Beccas, but really not because our names are spelt entirely different. Becca's apartment was such a sweet little studio, in a pretty neighborhood and more than once I found myself crushing on her little vignettes and artwork she has hung all over. We kept things pretty low key on Friday night and just ate pizza on the floor and rested. Saturday was another story.

I think we were all a little anxious to get going on Saturday and ended up waking up too too early for the 11am Renegade Fair start time. Becca made us yummy coffee, and we all got dressed up for our first long day of shopping. We decided it would be better to go early and get there right as the fair was starting, to beat out some of the crowd. We were totally right to do so because after about an hour of wandering the stalls a sudden swarm of people seemed to take over everything. My first and most important stop was the Tumbleweeds booth because Beca (another one) was holding on to a pair of sunnies I had pre-ordered before the fair. I'm in love with my wood veneer sunglasses and haven't taken them off since! My biggest regret is not getting a photo with Beca when we first stopped :(

We dug in pretty quickly after the crowd started getting intense and pulled out some treasures before they were all snatched up. I think we all agreed that the Little Canoe shop was irresistible, as all three of us bought something there. We spent about 3 hours shopping before it suddenly occurred to us that food is essential to shopping survival and we took a break. We ate at the prettiest little cafe on their patio, and people watched and drank fresh squeezed lemonade. I almost didn't want to get back up because my little feet were tired but I muscled through and hit the fair again.

After a couple more hours at the fair we headed back to Becca's apartment to relax, watch movies, and assess our purchases. I ended up walking away with three prints, a necklace, a Christmas gift for someone, and a rug. Yes, I randomly happened upon the perfect rug for our Kitchen at the Vintage Bazaar in Renegade. I'm such a home decor junkie.

Sunday was more shopping and hang time and if you want to see pics from Sunday I suggest checking out my instagram (@Bekuhdoo), because I flat out didn't bring my camera at all. Our big trip home came too early on Monday, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was ready to be home with Ryan and Nellie-bellie. I missed my little family like crazy. big kiss, bekuh
