After the Rain Stops

8.09.2012

Afternoon showers have become kind of a norm in these parts, and at first it made me mad because it always seemed to rain right as I was leaving work and ready to play. Now, however I'm enjoying the short lived cool that comes with the rain, and the way everything looks greener, and more alive after it. Our back alley is one of my little hideouts when I need some time to think, and a recent evening shower gave me the perfect excuse to snap pictures of just how magical this place can be.
Our neighborhood has been looking rather colorful thanks to a variety of blooming trees and these pink blossoms have exploded on the gravel drive behind the house. I cut down a branch for a wild bouquet in our dining room and that only makes me love these trees more. The branches get so heavy in the rain that they droop nearly to the ground and the blossoms start following off like confetti.
As I was snapping these couple of images it begin to lightly rain again, and while shielding my camera from harm, I danced a little and ate the wild black berries that grow behind our neighbors house. They never eat them, I've checked. Nellie likes these berries too, but she doesn't really eat them either.

When Ryan and I buy a house I want to let the garden grow wild with berries, and blooming trees, and climbing roses, and wild flowers. Our background will be a playground for imagination. big kiss, bekuh
