I was pretty impressed with Ryan's culinary skills as I had him set up the camp stove on top of a boulder, so we could see the amazing views. We ate dinner, exchanged a lot of smiles and began the process of setting up camp. I was ready to just sprawl out in my hammock and rest, but Ryan had other plans.
He wanted to watch the sunset together and of course I was all about it. So, I started to climb the tallest rock on the summit and Ryan said he'd meet me up there. About five minutes later Ryan climbs up and is breathing so heavy I thought he was having a heart attack. I said something like, "Are you afraid of heights because you're breathing kind of funny? If I knew this was going to be too high we could have just stayed down there." He assured me he wasn't afraid of heights and tried to catch his breath as he talked about how pretty the sunset was, how pretty I was and how I was his best friend in the entire world. He then did something pretty daring in my book; on top of a very high, and very narrow rock, he bent down on one knee and pulled out a little black box. Then he asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! We kissed a little put the ring on my finger and watched the sunset on top of the world, in every sense of the word.
I'm sad I didn't bring a camera up there but I had no idea that he was going to propose! This picture was earlier in the evening but I think we look pretty happy even here. I promise I'll post a picture of the ring soon and a little bit of the story behind it too. I purposely left that out. big kiss, bekuh.
{Note: Ryan would like people to know that he was not breathing hard because he was nervous to ask me but because he was afarid one of us would drop the ring off the side of a cliff and never get it back again. Luckily it didn't happen and I have my gorgeous ring}
