seeing clearly

I read this quote somewhere online recently and had to share. I think these two simple sentences speak volumes. Dedicated to the invisible things in all our lives. big kiss, bekuh

summer afternoon

7.30.2013

This past weekend was one that will go down in the history books for me! I crossed two life goals off my list and spent a lot of time outside which is always awesome. On Saturday we decided to take a little hike and get out of the city (common theme for us apparently) so we headed about an hour south to the White Clay Creek Preserve. I secretly plotted this whole thing out because White Clay Creek had something special about it I couldn't resist, it crossed the state line. Doesn't sound like a super important feature to you? Humph.

Well it's special to me because it meant that I could be in two places at ONCE. Life goal crossed off the list, just-like-that. Commence happy dance. I think it's only fitting to quote Henry James now:
Thank god for summer, it makes the rest of the year bearable for me. Tomorrow I'll share about that second goal getting crossed off the list. If you follow me on instagram you may already know what I'm talking about. wink wink. big kiss, bekuh

leave room for greatness

6.19.2013

I've been majorly slacking in the creation part of being a creative type. My time has been divided by a million things like work projects, blogging projects, and a newly found motivation in the gym. It hasn't stopped me from thinking about art, or dreaming up compositions I'd like to see come to fruition. One of the ideas I've been playing with is combining color and black&white imagery to create an interweaving depth of shadows. I managed to start on a few of these collages, but feel like I've just scratched the surface of possibilities with this.
The quote doesn't really have anything to do with my artistic endeavors, but serves more as a reminder to keep going. Let's not give up, but instead accept our mistakes and leave room for greatness. big kiss, bekuh
