Ryan and I are on a roll with these Christmas dates guys! It's so much fun being really purposeful with our time, and getting to really make some amazing memories together along the way. We're half way through the 12 dates, and I'm going to really hate it when they're done. I think the most valuable lesson we're learning from this experience is that dates don't have to be expensive, or involve dressing up. Most of our dates are outings we go on regularly, it's just we're making them more about together time, and elevating them into something special. It's pretty awesome.
For date two we went to Starbucks and sipped lattes slowly. Date three involved flea market diving. Date four was a special brunch, on date five we hung our Christmas lights with cocktails in hand, and date six we walked around our neighborhood checking out all the lights. I'm snapping pics along the way and posting them to twitter and instagram (both @bekuhdoo) if you'd like to follow along. I'll be doing a full roundup after all twelve dates on the blog too! Today just a couple of images from dates three, five, and six.
With only 11 days to go until Christmas, Ryan and I will be making a lot more memories very soon. I'm thinking tonight might be a date night. Are any on you doing anything special with your honey this holiday season? big kiss, bekuh

so wonderful to find time during this busy time to really spend time with the one you love. :) my husband and i are going into pittsburgh tonight for a date. they have a holiday market and lights and skating. i'm very excited. :) xo
ReplyDeleteAww this sounds like such a lovely idea. My husband and I have started doing a weekly date night but I like the idea of (a)more frequent dates and (b)tying them into the xmas festivities. It's so easy to get swept up in the mayhem of the holidays and lose sight of the little important things. I'm really looking forward to your roundup and taking some date ideas inspiration from you :)
ReplyDeleteSounds so lovely, I wish I could do that kinda stufff!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are adorable. And this looks like so much fun.
ReplyDeleteWe are having a big Christmas date soon - but it's a surprise for me!
i agree with you - sometimes just saying it's a date makes it more romantic. but, my husband always tells me "you can't plan romantical." so there's that too. sooo good to spend some quality time with your loved one for the holidays and make special memories together.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with this idea as much as when you first announced it. I think many couple get too busy during the holidays to have quality time together!
ReplyDeleteThis twelve date idea is so awesome. My husband and I have been trying to be really conscious with our time too, mix things up and go out on simple dates... it's amazing how the simple things can be so fun with your love, and do so much for marriage. Thank you for sharing yours!! xo
ReplyDeleteI love that idea of every day a date before christmas!
ReplyDeletehave a good time on the 11 dates to come!
wish you all the best!
I love that you're doing this! Maybe we'll try this out next year. :D
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are beautiful, and these dates a lovely idea ! For us, it's a season full of cinema dates, it's a great escape from the ton of work we have to do for school. I can't wait to see your other dates !
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! And I suppose you could adjust it for single people like me too, just do it with family or your best friend. I really love this, so cute!
ReplyDeleteCute :) I've been SLACKING this year, haha. We usually do an advent activity every day. Some little things and some bigger things. I'm thinking we need to play a game of chess tonight! ♥Lindsay
ReplyDeleteoh, i just love the idea of elevating the ordinary. that's what a good, happy life is all about. plus, i think you still look EXTRA cute dressed down. robbie's school schedule and my weird end-of-the-year photography surge has made it hard to go on little dates. we had planned to do this same 12 dates of christmas thing too…saw it on Rockstar Diaries last year and thought it was so cute! ah! next year! (i'm sure we're still going on that many dates…we've just bad on the documenting/intentionality end of it.)
ReplyDeletep.s. i am FINALLY catching up with your blog. i'll be on here for a few hours, spamming up your posts with my love. hope that's ok.
xoxo!
p.s. i'm in LOVE with that photograph of you & sweet nellie. please print it a million times and cover a wall with it.
ReplyDeleteThese sound so sweet! I don't have a sweetheart, but I'm taking my roommate to my office holiday party because I don't want to go alone. Wamp wah.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this. I think that you know that, though
