Filling the Void

11.26.2012

I didn't want to not post today, but I don't really have the brain capacity right now to actually write something worth reading. We left my sister's in Mississippi around 7:30am yesterday morning and didn't arrive home until about 2:30am this morning. Insert longest day of my life. Between unexpectedly heavy traffic in Montgomery, Birmingham, and Chattanooga, a blown out tire, and multiple potty breaks; somewhere around the Virginia border I was ready to check into a motel and sleep for a couple of days.

Not to be a debbie-downer, but our trip home sucked. It doesn't overshadow my happiness of being with my sister for three days, the fact that Nellie is the best little car buddy, and that I have an amazing husband who will risk life and limb to change out a tire, and then proceed to drive the whole way home. Oh no, those things are amazing and worth celebrating. I'm so thankful we're all safe and sound, and that I have a boss who says "sure," when I text him to say I may be late in the morning.

So today, I'm just happy to be home. Tomorrow I'll stress about all the things I wanted to get done and haven't. big kiss, bekuh

  1. I'm glad you made it home safe and sound AND that you had a great three days with your sister.
It sounds like you really do have some amazing aspects in your life to be thankful for and when they are great like the ones you mentioned the little negative things are always overshadowed.

  7. The Sunday after Thanksgiving is the worst day of the year to drive. Seriously it really is. So... I guess it's all better from here haha.
