The Autumnal Necessaries

It seems like every season there is one outfit or "look," that I lean towards more than any other. I'm already seeing a pattern for this fall. Most weekends (and some weekdays too) you'll find me wearing something along these lines: jeans, a lightweight sweater, loafers, my yellow beret, this coat, and my  vintage Coach bag. It's just so easy to pull together and I never have to second guess how I look.

I can't tell you what a life saver this coat has already been for me. I'd always loved the idea of a trench coat, but could never find the "one." Well this one found me and I couldn't be happier! I think it looks pretty sharp with my Grandma's old Coach bag and a couple pops of color. Every single item I'm wearing is a treasured piece of my autumnal wardrobe.   1. Oh goodness, I love that vintage Coach and your trench coat! I especially like that the coat has a hood. So many trench, raincoats DON'T. I have to think, how are you going to protect my head from the rain?

  4. Those shoes! I almost bought them but went for the sparkly gold loafers instead. I wish I'd have bought both after seeing this.
    I really like your classic trench coat you're wearing. It's hardly cool enough for a jacket most of the day yet, but if it was I wish I had a nice jacket like that. It's perfect with the sweater + jeans combo. And your yellow beret! I absolutely love it. It reminds me that I need to break out my hats soon!

  6. I don't wear as many skirts in summer because it's so windy, but in winter I love tights with skirts and dresses. This year I mostly wore a short jersey dress with tights, my ankle boots, a long shirt and whatever jacket or coat was appropriate for the weather. I love your bright patterned shoes. I want to try cover some old shoes with nice fabric.

  10. That trench is so beautiful! I actually had a favorite one really similar to this, but it got left behind at a bar one night and was not there the next day! Oops. Your grandma's coach bag is amazing as well! Hope you're having a beautiful day!

  12. that's so neat you have your grandmas coach bag, it's like an heirloom. and i haven't found the right trench yet, it's so wierd that they all look the same yet it's still so hard to find the perfect cut! my staple is anything with a chunky knit and some maroon jeans. easy peasy :)

  13. I really love the shoes and your grandmother's bag! And you're right: there's always some "to-go" outfit for every season. And it's even more true for fall and winter because I just want to feel warm and comfy most of the times. For me it's usually something like that: a blue or red trench coat, a sweater, jeans and either black heels or flat brown oxfords. Simple and easy to put together. :-)

  16. Adorable as always, Bekuh :) My go-to fall outfit has been striped shirt + grey infinity scarf + leather jacket + skinny jeans + black ankle boots. It's comfortable, I feel good in it and it's acceptable for just about any social outing.

    Oh, and as for trench coats, I look exactly like Inspector Gadget whenever I try to wear one. Looks great on you, though!

  21. ah i love this! i love the idea of a trench too and need to pick one up. the more i see this yellow hat on you, the more i want a yellow one. i have left over yellow from yours i may use to do something with...but it's enough for like....a guinea pig hat or something! i love your outfit posts so much - you are always so adorably stylish
