Basket Weaves and Feathered Frocks

10.15.2012

Breakfast dates are one of my favorite weekend activities with Ryan. We have pretty opposite work schedules so our days together at the end of each week are super meaningful to us. I also love an excuse to get dressed up after a good night's sleep, when I can gather all my mental faculties before having to make ensemble decisions. Little known fact; I'm kind of a schlep most work days and don't put any effort into my clothes, due mostly to punching snooze too many times in the morning. Shocker I know. Weekends are kind of my time to shine, and sleep. I love sleep.
Back to fashion. I wore this for one of our recent dates and Ryan liked my outfit so much he got dressed for the occasion to. I knew instantly that'd we'd be taking pictures of what I wore, and we did. It's fun to dress as a couple, not in the matchy-matchy sense, but in the "I want to look good for you" sense. It's more fun that way.

Outfit Details: shirt- H&M//skirt- Anthropologie (last year)//Shoes- Fossil//handbag- vintage//earrings- so old I can't remember

I think this outfit encapsulates my fall look pretty well; warm tones, mixed in with greens (or blues), neutral accessories, and messy hair. Throw in some feathers and a basket weave handbag and we're talking business people. My platform sandals are making their last hurrah on le blog until spring. The weather has cooled enough that sandals are probably not practical for the next couple months (or 6, you know). Well that's all I've got today. Happy Monday! big kiss, bekuh

  3. That skirt is beautiful, you look lovely. I think me and my boyfriend need to put aside a little time to spend together, we're falling into that bad habit of not appreciating all the time we get to spend together at the moment. Anyways, hope your birthday was amazing and that you have a great week xo

  4. I love the button down skirt! I've been looking for one for ages. In my country, we have a lot of these woven baskets. :)

  8. You look so pretty- another lovely outfit! I love getting dressed up more when it's time I'm spending with Brian and I've never understood the letting yourself go when you're married mentality. Breakfast dates are the best- I really need to do that more! Happy belated birthday, too :)

  9. The weekends = sleep for me! Well, more sleep than the weekdays! And I totally get what you mean about hitting that snooze button during the week. When all else fails, jeans and a fun shirt do the job :) I love the falliness (I'm pretty sure I just made up a word) of your outfit!

  11. Very cute! I love stripes mixed with a pattern.

Kind of jealous you won't be wearing sandals now. It's back in the high 80s over here.
